Glasshouse Quarry

Who we are

With more than 4,000 employees across 300 sites, Heidelberg Materials have an extensive production and logistics network across Australia.

We think global and act local - we benefit from global research and development enhanced by national collaboration to offer a comprehensive range of high-quality concrete, aggregates, road base, sand and asphalt products. We produce a wide range of sustainable and recycled construction materials for civil construction and infrastructure projects.

We are driven by excellence and high performance and together we will shape Australia’s construction materials industry building a legacy for generations to come.

We’ve been operating the Glasshouse Quarry for more than 17 years and the quarry has been providing reliable and high quality construction supplies since 1976.

Our 30 onsite staff are locals - some of which have now worked at the quarry for over 30 years. We keep this local focus by source supplies, equipment and services from our local businesses wherever practical.

What we do

We extract rock from the quarry and process it into smaller materials called aggregates. These aggregates are made into many different sizes to meet the needs of our customers.

As well as supplying material to our own concrete plants, we also supply many external customers including the Sunshine Coast Council, Queensland Government, small businesses and large private companies.

Our operations are controlled by Council and Government regulations to ensure we operate with the least possible impact to the community and environment. This is in addition to our high company standards for safety, quality and environmental protection.

To ensure we comply with our conditions of operation, we manage a network of environmental monitors in and around the quarry. This sensitive equipment monitors dust, vibrations, air over-pressure (from blasts) and noise.

We report to the Government about our performance and we are proud of our excellent record of compliance. There is no impact to the Glass House mountains from our quarrying operations.

Our quarry operates from Monday-Saturday and we do not work on Sundays or public holidays.
